The National Enquirer - August 28, 2006

Horse Horror!!!

The August 28th edition of the National Enquirer has an article on page 36 about horse slaughter. There is a coupon with the article to clip and mail. Please buy the issue, clip the coupon, put it in an envelope and mail it to the address specified.

The journalist did a fantastic job detailing the issue and placed appropriate photographs with great captions. Ferdinand is included and the caption for him is: "Ferdinand: Began as a winner, ended up as dinner."

As of August 5th, 2006 58,948 horses have been domestically slaughtered. HR 503 is expected to be voted on in the House of Representatives on September 7th. It is not too late to call or fax your Representative to ask them to co-sponsor HR 503. Please check the list of co-sponsors for this bill to see if your Representative has co-sponsored. District offices are preferable to calling DC. The aides are typically more polite, and it is not a long disance call when you contact the district offices. Ask for a written response from the Representative so you can be assured that your call has been logged.
